Charity giving, from one special charity to another this Christmas
An enjoyable evening had by all, at The Stowmarket Salvation Army Core group “Carols for all” Concert held at Violet Hill Road, Stowmarket on Wednesday 5th December.
Kindly organised by John and Anne Daborn, with special guests being the Stowmarket Town Mayor CLR Linda Baxter and Consort Shirley Bonner and GeeWizz Charity Founder Gina Long MBE.
The event was held in aid of GeeWizz Charity, who’s founder addressed the congregation expressing how humbled and grateful they were to be the beneficiary from another charity. The uplifting occasion was celebrated with a live band, Songsters, Kidz Club, Timbrels and solo vocalists Abigail Johnson and Rob Moye.
Gina Long MBE founder of GeeWizz Charity alongside GeeWizz fundraising Manager Crystal Barber said “We are overwhelmed by the hugely generous giving from The Stowmarket Salvation Army Core Group, who themselves require much needed funding “to be able to support our charity, is simply overwhelming. GeeWizz supports children and young adults living in Suffolk and Norfolk, with life-threating conditions, disabilities or Cancer. We prides ourselves on 100% transparent giving, where every £1 donated or raised is focused on helping change many local lives, all in a transparent and accountable way.
The congregation generously presented the cheque of £2,128.14 to Gina, Andrew long and Crystal Barber on behlaf of GeeWizz Charity which will be carefully spent on specialist equipment which will be presented by The Stowmarket Salvation Army Core group in 2019.
