Brothers Michael and Andy Fulcher, affectionately known as Mick and Sprock, held a tea party fundraiser on Sunday 21st July in Ipswich, raising an incredible £2,888 for GeeWizz Charity.

Mick, 32 and Sprock, 36 both sadly suffer from Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle wasting condition that leaves the boys wheelchair bound, ventilated 24 hours a day and requiring 24/7 support from carers. The brothers wanted to organise a fundraiser that would be fun for all the family, whilst raising funds to help children and young adults with a similar condition to them.

Using eye-gazer technology, that GeeWizz helped to campaign for, Mick and Sprock wrote to and visited companies across Ipswich and Colchester, asking for raffle prizes and donations of cakes, sandwiches, decorations and other refreshments.

Families from across Suffolk enjoyed an afternoon of delicious cake, games and activities all while raising funds for GeeWizz, who support children and young adults who sadly suffer from a life-threatening condition, a disability or cancer in Suffolk.

The afternoon was supported by Venue 77 who kindly donated the use of their hall, Henbrandt, Sponge Cakes Ltd, the Mill Bar and Grill, along with many other local companies who generously donated raffle prizes and refreshments, plus VALNTNA who performed an amazing set to conclude the afternoon.

Gina Long MBE, founder of GeeWizz Charity, says, “The dedication Mick and Sprock have demonstrated in arranging their fantastic tea party is awe-inspiring. I am blown away by the incredible support shown by local companies and am so grateful to them all.”
