Suffolk family spread Christmas cheer across Ipswich
A series of gifts were presented to a number of families from Ipswich on Monday 16th December, generously purchased by Duncan and Kara Foster, and their daughter Ella.
Each year, with the help of Suffolk-based GeeWizz Charity, the Foster family select a few families in need that have been supported by the charity, to present a Christmas gift to. Mothers from the PTA Group at Thomas Wolsey Ormiston Academy and their children were delighted to receive gift vouchers, which will certainly add some magic to their Christmas together.
George Woodward, aged 7, who has recently begun Spinraza treatment for his condition Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2 after a 3 year wait, was presented with a PlayStation4 and the new Fifa 20 game. To say his face said it all is somewhat of an understatement!
Duncan and Kara’s generous support to GeeWizz doesn’t end with their donation of Christmas presents however, they both have named GeeWizz as their Charity of the Year for their businesses FIS Windows and Encore Wellness.
Kara Foster, said, “We feel it is so important to show Ella the importance of giving at Christmas. This is something we have done since she was 2 years old, and Ella is always so enthusiastic to meet and chat to those we are giving presents to.”
GeeWizz Charity is a very small charity based in Bury St Edmunds, supporting children and young adults in Suffolk and Norfolk who sadly suffer from a life-threatening condition, a disability or cancer. More recently, they have also purchased sensory or specialist equipment for SEN schools and colleges in the local community.
