GeeWizz Charity donates £20,000 to Sarcoma UK to fund vital research

GeeWizz were delighted to donate their yearly £20,000 donation to Sarcoma UK to fund vital research into the disease, especially in these unprecedented times. Over the last five years, GeeWizz has now donated £132,000 to Sarcoma UK, a charity that is very close to their heart.

Sarcoma UK is based in London and is the only cancer charity throughout the UK which specialises and focuses on every type of Sarcoma, as well as investing in research. Every day 15 people are diagnosed with Sarcoma, a cancer of the bone and soft tissue. It is extremely difficult to treat, and one of the hardest to diagnose. There are around 100 different sub-types of known Sarcoma cancer. They ensure everyone who is affected by sarcoma gets the best treatment, care, information & support possible.

Kerry Reeves-Kneip, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Sarcoma UK, said: “GeeWizz just keep coming through for people affected by sarcoma again and again, despite tough times. Sarcoma UK extends a massive thank you to everyone who so generously supports their work. ”

In addition, to the funds donated by GeeWizz, Gina has also participated in Virgin Money London Marathon to help support Sarcoma UK and to make a difference.

The GeeWizz team, said: “We are so proud to have donated £20,000 to Sarcoma UK in these difficult times, taking our total to £132,000 over the last five years for the wonderful Sarcoma team. We have seen how they operate and give the best advice and support at the hardest time for those who are newly-diagnosed and their families. They truly help transform the lives of everyone affected by the horrible disease.”
