Heartfelt thanks to Knights Lowe and their team of dedicated hikers who took on the Three-Peaks Challenge in support of GeeWizz Charity and Alzheimer’s Society.
Their challenge went very well, with the team in good spirits, despite feeling very sore and exhausted.
At 6am on Saturday morning, the team started their hike and summited Ben Nevis within their desired time frame. Despite the sunny weekend we all enjoyed in Suffolk, things were very different for the team. Weather conditions were dry at the bottom of the mountain, but within the clouds they encountered rain, wind, and even snow at the summit.
With a quick turn-around down the mountain the team were off again, driving to Scafell Pike, to start their next hike at 5pm on Saturday.
Last but certainly not least, they conquered Snowdon. With a VERY early 2am Sunday start, in pitch black, cold, and foggy conditions. What a team of #CharitySuperstars to push through the tiredness!
Seven of the team completed the challenge in under 24 hours! Four more pushed through, summited the final peak in 24 hours and finishing in 25 hours 45 minutes. The team spent a well-deserved night in Log Cabins in Shrewsbury, and celebrated with a BBQ, fire pit, and lots of cake! (I think we could have managed that bit!)
Congratulations and a huge thanks to the team at Knights Lowe, Paul Kerr (Driver), James Knights, Kirk Vaughan, Shelley Clarke, Danielle Stanton, Ashleigh Rowlands, Sophie O’Brien, Hannah Willingham, Sam Nicholson, Sam Byrne, George Byrne, Dylan Jones, William Gudgeon, Calum Mitchel-Fuller, and Jamie Potter-Steel, for your amazing charity fundraising!
