Edward Crichton ASFAV

Ambassador

Having grown up in Suffolk Ed considers it is a privilege to be able to support Gina Long MBE and her charity, GeeWizz. He loves the fact it is a charity that helps children and young adults locally. Ed Says, ‘Personally, seeing children benefit from our fundraising is a moving experience. There is so much more to do and give and knowing that 100% of what we raise goes to these good causes is a great motivator. I proudly introduced Gina to thesaleroom.com where she has gone on to host 10 incredible online charity auction, that has to date raised over £1,8000,000.’ In 2020, Ed via Lacy Scott and Knight and www.thesaleroom.com hosted the hugely successful Ed Sheeran Made in Suffolk Legacy Auction. A total of £506,000 was raised to fund two legacy projects - the redevelopment of a much-need playground at the Thomas Wolsey Ormiston Academy in Ipswich and the introduction of a specialist nursing team - including learning disability and palliative care nurses and physiotherapists - at the Zest service, run by St Elizabeth Hospice. Thanks to the auction, these crucial projects can now be a reality.

Ed catalogues the Fine Art & Antiques auctions, as well as Pictures & Prints across all sales. Ed has been the manager of Lacy Scott & Knight auction centre since 2002. During this time, Ed has overseen the growth of the department from 19 to around 40 sales a year, trebling the turnover, and the physical extension of the Auction Centre to accommodate our growing team and the volume of lots processed.

Despite having four young children, Edward finds time to indulge his passion for Ipswich Town football club, is a patron of Geewizz charity and conducts numerous charity auctions.
